Emily Irene VanCamp was originally keen on becoming a professional dancer. However, after going to her sister Katie's set on Ladies Room, she became more inclined to act. While taking classes in acting, she also landed part-time roles in Canadian television shows. She starred, among other shows, in the series Are You Scared of the Dark? Radio Active, Dice. VanCamp had a career breakthrough after he was cast on the WB horror-mystery show Glory Days as Sam Dolan. Though the show garnered positive critiques, it's poor rating led to it being ended after nine short episodes. The actress was born on May 12, 1986, was quickly offered an additional role on Everwood. The role she played was Amy Abbott. Her role in the film was rewarded with 4 Teen Choice Awards nominations and an Young Artist Award.
